Kim Wilson has been a Client Success Specialist for MI Write for the last three years, but has been with MI for eight years.

What do you love about your job?
It’s a very caring company. My coworkers are more like family than just coworkers. I love the flexibility, and it’s fun to watch students all over the US grow academically.

What has been the biggest obstacle in your career? How did you overcome it?
Keeping up with technology. My teammates are around to help out, the company offers workshops, and a LOT of trial and error.

What is the weirdest or most interesting job you’ve ever had? What made it weird or interesting?
The most interesting job I’ve had was working at a small appliance repair shop. I liked tinkering with coffee pots, irons, blenders, vacuum cleaners, etc. I also got to meet people from all walks of life.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
RETIRED!

What has been the hardest part of the COVID-19 pandemic for you?
Not hugging, not seeing, not being with so many friends and loved ones. Not playing music in clubs with live audiences.

What is your proudest accomplishment?
Being a good person, friend, mom, and grandparent. 🙂

What is your favorite family recipe/tradition?
People like my coleslaw, especially the spicy kind.

Jason Shelton is one of our excellent Client Success Specialists. He’s been with MI for six years and joined the CSS team last year.

What do you love about your job?
I love talking to teachers and watching their faces light up when they realize how MI Write can help them in their classrooms, making their lives easier while helping their students become stronger writers.

What has been the biggest obstacle in your career?
The biggest obstacle in my career was a career change. After 10 years in a field that I was no longer interested in or passionate about, I made the difficult, but rewarding, decision to leave everything and start over from the bottom of the ladder. I was able to pair the prior experience with new training to build a career that I love.

What is your degree in?
Business Administration

What is the weirdest or most interesting job you’ve ever had? What made it weird or interesting?
The most interesting job that I had was the one I learned the most from. As a sales professional, I learned competencies that have allowed me to be successful today. Communicating with and relating to all kinds of people is what made it interesting.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
The owner of large quantities of commercial and residential real estate.

What has been the hardest part of the COVID-19 pandemic for you?
The most difficult part of the pandemic for me has been not being able to see my nieces, siblings, parents, and grandparents for several months.

What is your favorite family recipe/tradition?
Sweet potato pie
